Brand Concept | When you think of udon, many people may think of Kagawa, but Osaka has a long history of udon and has many famous restaurants. Among them, Kamatake Udon, known as the originator of "Osaka Sanuki Udon," a thick, uniquely chewy and firm udon, was born in Sennichimae, Osaka. The thick and unique chewy texture of our udon noodles is made by foot stomping, and we still produce them in accordance with tradition. Our specialty, GYOKU Tama Ten Bukkake, is a must-try. The freshly fried chikuwa tempura of a surprising size and the soft, soft-boiled egg tempura are a perfect match. This is our first store in Yokohama, but our YOKOHAMA BAYSIDE store will also be serving Akashiyaki, which is made with udon broth. Akashiyaki is so familiar in the local Akashi, Hyogo prefecture, that it is called GYOKU. It has more GYOKU in the batter than takoyaki, and is very soft with a sweet GYOKU taste. It is eaten by dipping it in broth, rather than dipping it in sauce, green laver, or mayonnaise. Also, because it is soft, it is not round like takoyaki. This has a gentle taste that children can also enjoy, so please give it a try. |
