It was once thought that there were no living creatures on the deep sea floor. However, advances in exploration technology have revealed that a wide variety of organisms live in the deep sea hydrothermal vents where light does not reach.

Why does hydrothermal fluid erupt from the deep seafloor? How do living organisms survive in a place with high temperatures and pressures where no light reaches?
Could the metals that erupted along with the hot water be used as resources?

Uncovering the mysteries of the deep sea!
