Regarding the introduction of equipment utilizing Osaka "Project to Counter Extreme Heat Measures Using Urban Greening"

At LaLaport IZUMI, we received a subsidy from Osaka 's "Project to Counter Extreme Heat Utilizing Urban Greening" in fiscal year 2026, and implemented the following heat countermeasures.

The equipment was installed in the second-floor pocket park and the connecting passageway to the Costco parking lot.
We've added new planters in two locations within the pocket park, increasing the amount of plants.
We've added sunshades, pergolas, wooden decks, and benches around the planters to allow more customers to relax and enjoy the shade.
Additionally, in the planting area on the south side of the connecting walkway (the Costco parking lot side), some of the shorter trees were replaced with taller trees to increase the amount of shade that softens the sunlight hitting the walkway.

This project is a collaborative effort between Osaka, local governments within Osaka, and private businesses to combat the extreme heat.
In response to the deterioration of the heat environment in urban areas caused by the urban heat island effect, Osaka is providing subsidies for improving the heat environment through measures such as greening.
