A quick and easy katsudon from Waseda, Tokyo
Wasekatsudon was created as a homage to the katsudon that is said to have originated in Waseda, Tokyo in 1913. Its characteristics are a thin pork cutlet, quick to prepare, and dipped in sauce. It was named Wasekatsu as it was a cutlet that originated in Waseda and is quick to prepare. The deep-fried cutlet is dipped in an original sweet and spicy sauce and served on rice in a bowl. It is steamed under the bowl lid and brought to your table fresh. When you are ready to eat, please push the pile of cutlets aside and enjoy.
