Okonomiyaki Yukari, a okonomiyaki bistro specializing in flour Okonomiyaki YUKARI, has opened on the B1 floor COREDO Muromachi Terrace!

  • Since its founding in 1950, Okonomiyaki YUKARI has continued to serve the "traditional taste" of a long-established restaurant in Osaka. It is a popular restaurant loved by people of all ages across generations.

    On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the 11th store nationwide, the "Tokyo Nihonbashi Store," will open on the B1 floor of COREDO Muromachi Terrace. As the "AKIBA-ICHI Store" in Akihabara is temporarily closed, it is currently the only store in Tokyo.

    In this issue of COREDO Magazine, we interviewed the newly opened "Okonomiyaki YUKARI"! Mr. Masaaki Yamashita, President and CEO of Yukari Co., Ltd., gave us a tour of the restaurant's attractions.

  • The concept of the new restaurant is Okonomiyaki x Western food = Konamon Bistro

    While it's common for okonomiyaki restaurants to have a griddle at each table, Okonomiyaki YUKARI at COREDO Muromachi Terrace was unable to install one due to the facility's equipment limitations, and therefore served the food on plates.

    Taking advantage of those constraints, a new concept called "flour-based bistro" was born.

    "Yukari" was founded as a sweets shop, later operated as a Western-style restaurant, and started as an okonomiyaki specialty shop in 1972. The new store will offer a variety of dishes that combine okonomiyaki with Western cooking techniques, which is one of its roots.

    For example, one such example is the luxurious new menu item "Muromachi Fromage," which uses five types of cheese carefully selected by a chef who holds a cheese master's license.

    Okonomiyaki is placed on top of cheese fondue spread in a cast iron skillet, then topped with Gouda and Cheddar cheeses, and finally baked in the oven. There is absolutely no compromise on the ingredients or the cooking process.

    The finished "Muromachi Fromage" has a visually appealing presentation; when cut, the cheese stretches out like on a pizza, creating an incredibly appetizing sight. It's a new kind of okonomiyaki that also has a Western culinary nuance.

    When you take a bite, the rich flavor of the cheese washes over you, complemented by the refreshing taste of perilla leaves. It's delicious when served hot and fresh, but it's also tasty when cooled, making it an excellent snack to enjoy slowly with drinks. It pairs perfectly with beer, and is also a fantastic match for wine!

    Napo-katsu (Napolitan-style spaghetti with soba noodles) 1,400 yen (tax included)

    This "Napo-katsu (Napolitan Katsu Sobaghetti)" is also a newly developed menu item. As the name Sobaghetti suggests, it's a new kind of Napolitan made with "yakisoba noodles" instead of pasta.

    The ketchup sauce, reduced to bring out its sweetness and richness, coats the yakisoba noodles, making it look exactly like Neapolitan spaghetti. However, when you taste it, you'll be hooked on the unique chewy texture that only yakisoba can offer!

    Furthermore, a freshly fried pork cutlet is added, making it a very satisfying and filling dish. It's a dish that both adults and children will love.

    Of course, in addition to the new-style okonomiyaki and yakisoba, you can also enjoy the classic flavors of this long-established restaurant, such as the standard "butatama" and "tonpeiyaki," and the most popular "special mixed yaki."

    At "Okonomiyaki YUKARI," you'll find a lineup of dishes that pair well with wine, which is unusual for an okonomiyaki restaurant!

    The first thing I recommend you order is the beautifully colorful "Marinated Vegetables." Marinated in white wine vinegar, they have a refined acidity that pairs well with white wine.

    They have many hearty, satisfying dishes, including okonomiyaki, so it's perfect for a palate cleanser.

    Another recommended dish is a meat bar-style dish using "Farmer's Bacon," which won a gold medal at the DLG (German Agricultural Society) International Quality Competition.

    This bacon is made using the traditional "dry curing method," where salt and spices are rubbed directly onto the surface of pork belly and then aged for a long period at a low temperature. The bacon is then grilled on a griddle to create a crispy, fragrant finish.

    The thick slices of bacon have a beautiful cross-section, and the firm texture releases more and more flavor with every bite. The accompanying potato salad also pairs well with the bacon.

    In addition, we offer a wide variety of recommended dishes, including "Tofu Caprese," which combines tofu, shiso leaves, and tomatoes, and "Nakatsu Gold Medal Fried Chicken," which won the highest gold prize at the Fried Chicken Grand Prix!

  • A comfortable shop where you can relax and feel at ease.

    The restaurant has a bright and clean atmosphere, and the walls are decorated with the "Teko" (a type of spatula), the symbol of "Okonomiyaki YUKARI" giving it a casual and inviting feel.

    The restaurant has a total of 42 seats: 6 at the counter and 36 at tables. At the counter seats, you can enjoy watching the chefs prepare teppanyaki dishes such as okonomiyaki right in front of you.

    Each table does not have its own griddle; the food is served on a cast iron skillet, which means there is less smoke, another attractive feature.

    The private room has 14 seats. It can also be reserved for private events such as banquets.

    Course meals are available from 5,000 yen (tax included), including all-you-can-drink.
