2026/03/19
  • With the arrival of spring, "SAKURA FES NIHONBASHI 2026" will be held again this year in Nihonbashi. The entire town will be dyed pink with cherry blossoms and enveloped in the lively atmosphere of spring.

From Wednesday, March 18th to Sunday, April 5th, 2026, COREDO Muromachi will be offering a wide variety of limited-edition menus and goods featuring cherry blossoms and spring themes! This article highlights five noteworthy stores.

  • [Hakkaisan Sennen Kojiya] Let's toast with a cherry blossom-colored cocktail.

Left: Amazake Sakura Sour 800 yen (tax included) Right: Amazake Sakura Soda (non-alcoholic) 700 yen (tax included)

Hakkaisan Sennen Kojiya, located on the 1st floor of COREDO Muromachi 2, offers the entire Hakkaisan lineup, as well as a wide variety of food products themed around rice, koji, and fermentation. The store also features a bar counter where they offer suggestions to broaden the ways and possibilities of enjoying alcohol, focusing on pairing alcohol with food.

This spring, for a limited time only, comes the "Amazake Sakura Sour," a photogenic drink with a cute cherry blossom pink color. This original cocktail is made by mixing cherry blossom liqueur and amazake (sweet rice wine) with soda and topping it with salted cherry blossoms.

The biggest selling point is the "amazake made solely from koji" produced by Hakkai Brewery. The ingredients are only koji and water. Unlike typical amazake made with sake lees, it is completely alcohol-free.

The enzymes in the koji (fermented rice) saccharify the starch in the rice, bringing out a gentle sweetness. Adding cherry blossom-flavored liqueur and diluting it with soda makes it even more refreshing and easy to drink, with the saltiness of the pickled cherry blossoms providing a nice accent. Even those who don't usually like amazake (sweet rice drink) should definitely give this a try.

We also offer a non-alcoholic version, which replaces the cherry blossom liqueur with cherry blossom syrup. Whether you drink alcohol or not, let's raise a glass together!

  • 【Wagyu Burger】A night cherry blossom burger for adults

    fig

YOZAKURA Burger 1,780 yen (tax included)

Wagyu Burger, located on the 1st floor of COREDO Muromachi Terrace, offers burgers made with 100% A5 Wagyu beef from Heijoen, a long-established yakiniku group known for purchasing whole Kuroge Wagyu cattle.

This spring's limited-time menu item, the "YOZAKURA Burger," is based on the concept of "Cherry Blossoms at Night for Adults," using ingredients that range from red to purple, such as red wine sauce, dark cherries, pink peppercorns, and red onions. The burger is designed to evoke the image of cherry blossoms illuminated at night in Nihonbashi.

The inspiration came from the classic French technique of pairing beef with black cherry sauce. The sweet and sour flavor, along with its richness, enhances the umami of the Wagyu beef, resulting in a refined aftertaste.

By deliberately omitting tomatoes and using only lettuce and red onion as vegetables, the flavor profile is streamlined, allowing the patty and sauce to blend seamlessly as you eat, leaving a lasting impression even after you've finished.

The chewy buns, which perfectly support the substantial fillings, are made with 100% rice flour, the same flour used in their regular menu. Apparently, these buns are made by MAISON KAYSER, a boulangerie originating in France. No wonder they're so delicious!

This burger, combining fruit and Wagyu beef, is a first for Wagyu Burger. This "only available now" item, timed to coincide with cherry blossom season, is sure to be a refreshing change even for our regular customers! Takeout is also available, so we recommend enjoying it while admiring the cherry blossoms at night.

Cherry Blossom Strawberry Daifuku (1 piece) 980 yen (tax included)

Located on the 1st floor of COREDO Muromachi 1, facing the charming Nakadori Street surrounded by colorful lanterns, is "Kakuozan Fruit Daifuku Benzaiten." This specialty fruit daifuku shop is committed to the golden ratio of white bean paste and mochi that brings out the natural flavor of the fruit.

One of the appealing features of Benzaiten's fruit daifuku is the cross-section, which beautifully showcases the vibrant fruit. Simply cross the included "mochi-cutting string" over the daifuku and pull to reveal a clean, beautiful cross-section.

The limited-edition "Sakura Strawberry Daifuku" for spring is a variation of Benzaiten's most popular "Strawberry Daifuku," garnished with salted cherry blossoms. The delicate cherry blossom flavor envelops the sweet and tart, juicy large strawberry.

The lovely cherry blossom pink color floating in the mochi creates a special feeling. The gorgeous appearance and the cherry blossom fragrance that fills your mouth will make you feel the arrival of spring!

Kaho Kiln Colored Small Pattern Cherry Blossom Mug: ¥4,400 (tax included) 5-inch Plate: ¥3,300 (tax included) 4-inch Plate: ¥2,200 (tax included)

Located on the 2nd floor of COREDO Muromachi 3, "RAKUSHIEN" is a specialty ceramics shop offering masterpieces of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki, representative traditional crafts of Kyoto. It conveys the charm of Kyo-yaki, which is carefully crafted by the hands of artisans.

From among the many Kyoto ware pieces, this spring we recommend the mug and plate set from "Kaho Kiln" in Uji, Kyoto. This kiln is one of the leading Kyoto ware producers, renowned for its lightweight and easy-to-use tableware.

    fig

This is a rare example of earthenware in Kyoto ware, and its unique texture, unlike that of porcelain, is part of its charm. Particularly noteworthy is the white brushstrokes on the surface. Beautifully fluttering cherry blossoms are depicted on top of this, and some of the petals are further adorned with small, intricate patterns.

The combination of brushstroke designs and hand-painted cherry blossoms gives each piece a unique and individual character. Please come to our store and find your favorite!

Furthermore, since they are relatively affordable, we recommend stocking up on several and using them for springtime entertaining occasions.

The street in front of the Bank of Japan Currency Museum in Nihonbashi was named Edo Sakura Street in 2005. In spring, you can enjoy the cherry blossom trees lining the street with the Bank of Japan Head Office Main Building (completed in 1896, designed by Kingo Tatsuno, a designated Important Cultural Property) as a backdrop.

This spring, the main building will celebrate its 130th anniversary. We will be showcasing its blueprints, woodblock prints and photographs of the Bank of Japan from the Meiji era, and woodblock prints of financial institutions that were located in Nihonbashi, depicted alongside cherry blossoms.
