Discover 4 cool foods and goods at "ECO EDO Nihonbashi 2025"!

2025/07/11
  • The 17th annual Nihonbashi summer tradition, "ECO EDO Nihonbashi 2025 ~Enjoy the coolness of Edo with all five senses~" will be held from July 11th (Friday) to August 11th (Monday, national holiday), 2025. The event will be packed with a variety of content that allows you to enjoy the "coolness of Edo" with all five senses, unique to Nihonbashi, Yaesu, and Kyobashi areas!

In this article, we will introduce recommended gourmet food and goods perfect for summer from four stores in COREDO Muromachi: sobakappo inata, VinosYamazaki, ISHIYA NIHONBASHI, and Chusen Tenugui Nijiyura.

  • COREDO Muromachi 1 "sobakappo inata" Sudachi Soba

Sudachi soba 1,850 yen (tax included)

The recommended summer dish at Soba Kappo Inada, located on the third floor of COREDO Muromachi 1, is Sudachi Soba. It's such a popular dish that inquiries are being made almost every day since July began.

The first thing that catches your eye is the slices of sudachi that fill the bowl. They are luxuriously packed with no gaps, like green flowers in bloom. Just bringing your face close to the bowl will whet your appetite with the refreshing aroma, and one sip will leave your mouth feeling cool and refreshed.

The soba noodles are made with 2:8 buckwheat flour from Hokkaido. They are characterized by their firm texture and fragrant flavor, and go perfectly with the special dashi stock with a strong bonito flavor. The sharp, sour aroma of sudachi citrus blends into the soup, and the slightly bitter peel adds an accent, stimulating your appetite until the very end.

A question that is often asked is, "Do you eat the sudachi in sudachi soba?", but there are no specific rules. The smart way to eat it is to let it soak for a while to transfer the flavor to the soup stock, and it seems that many customers at the restaurant do this as well. Of course, if you like sudachi, there's no problem with tasting the flesh and juice!

    fig

Another nice touch is that it comes with boiled conger eel. The eel is carefully deboned, and the flavor is concentrated in the plump flesh. It is roasted to a fragrant finish, adding a refined richness to the refreshing taste of the sudachi soba.

Sudachi soba can be enjoyed with all five senses - its appearance, aroma, taste, and the freedom of how you eat it. It's a summer staple at soba restaurants that you should definitely try on a hot day.

  • COREDO Muromachi 2 "VinosYamazaki" Mimosa Cocktail

    fig

Mimosa cocktail made with yuzu and iyokan juice: 600 yen (tax included)

VinosYamazaki a direct-from-the-cellar wine specialty store located on the first floor of COREDO Muromachi 2, will be serving a special summer-only mimosa cocktail at its tasting counter.

A regular mimosa cocktail is made by combining sparkling wine and orange juice, but this time we're using "whole shaved domestic yuzu and Iyokan juice" instead of orange juice.

The juice is made by shaving the whole yuzu peel, squeezing it, and blending it with Iyokan juice, and it has a mature taste that is not as sweet as orange juice and has no bitter or harsh taste. It is even more refreshing when combined with sparkling wine! If you don't like alcohol, it is also delicious when mixed with carbonated water.

Left: Whole peeled Japanese yuzu and Iyokan juice (690ml) 1,458 yen (tax included)
Right: La Creille Vin Mousseux (720ml) 1,980 yen (tax included)

"Whole Peeled Domestic Yuzu and Iyokan Juice" is produced by Yamagami Kaju Yakousoen, an orchard that practices recycling agriculture in the Satoyama area of Tokushima Prefecture. In fact, the orchard is managed by Matsuyama Oil & Fat, which manufactures and sells soap, skin care, body care, hair care, and more. They grow the yuzu with their own hands and extract the yuzu essential oil from the peel, which is essential for Matsuyama Oil & Fat's products. They squeeze the juice from the remaining flesh to make juice, making full use of the fruit without waste.

The juice was paired with La Creille Vin Mousseux, a sparkling wine from France. It is an exquisite blend of six grape varieties, and is a gorgeous, fruity, dry wine. Its crisp, fresh flavor brings out the freshness of the yuzu and iyokan.

With just one sip, the refreshing fruit juice spreads throughout your mouth, and each time the sparkling bubbles pop in your mouth, it's so comfortable it makes you forget the heat of summer. This luxurious drink is a perfect harmony of the natural flavor of the fruit and the gorgeousness of the wine.

  • COREDO Muromachi Terrace "ISHIYA NIHONBASHI" Ishiya Pancakes

    fig

Ishiya Pancake Hokkaido Milk & Melon 2,000 yen (tax included)

ISHIYA NIHONBASHI is a directly managed cafe on the first floor of COREDO Muromachi Terrace, run by ISHIYA, the company famous for Shiroi Koibito. This summer's limited menu includes a luxurious Hokkaido summer-themed dessert, ISHIYA Pancakes Hokkaido Milk & Melon!

    fig

The first thing that catches your eye is the generous amount of Hokkaido melon pulp and LONGCHAMP served on top of the pancakes. When you lift the film, the melon pulp and cream dribble down, sure to make you cheer! Don't forget to take a video.

The thick pancakes are fluffy and chewy. When you cut them with a knife, you'll find Hokkaido milk gelato sandwiched inside. The coldness adds an accent to the taste, and you can enjoy the cool, moist texture. They're not too sweet, with a refreshing taste, and while they're filling, you won't get bored of eating them all the way to the end, which is a nice bonus.

    fig

The sprinkling of lime zest adds a refreshing citrus scent that matches perfectly with the sweetness of the melon. The scent of lime lingers in your nose and tightens up the overall flavor.

During the event, there will also be a lineup of parfaits and drinks made with melon. Enjoy the feeling of traveling to Hokkaido in the summer!

  • COREDO Muromachi Terrace "Chū-sen Tenugui Nijiyura" Tenugui

    fig

Hand towel "Fireworks" 1,760 yen (tax included)

The history of tenugui is long, dating back to the Nara period. Initially they were used in religious ceremonies and as accessories, but with the rise of cotton cultivation and the spread of public baths in the Edo period, they became an indispensable part of the lives of ordinary people.

Of course, they were used for washing the body and wiping off water, but they were also carried around as a fashion statement, and kabuki actors would hand out tenugui with their names on them instead of business cards.

    fig

Tenugui have also been a great companion when going out during the hot summer. Even today, the traditional style of wetting a tenugui and wrapping it around your neck is still popular. Wetting a tenugui protects your neck from the sun while adding a cool feeling. Another appealing feature is that it is made of thin cotton and dries quickly, so it doesn't get stuffy even when wet.

You can also wear it under your hat like a bandana for added comfort. It is especially recommended for those who do sports such as trekking.

    fig

Tenugui are useful in a variety of situations, but what Nijiyura, a shop selling Chusen Tenugui on the second floor of COREDO Muromachi Terrace, suggests is to use a tenugui frame to decorate with seasonal patterns.

For example, you can decorate your home with a fireworks patterned tenugui in the summer, and use it as a practical dishcloth in the fall. It's perfect for those who want to incorporate a seasonal feel into their lives.

    fig

In addition, a fan-making Shops will be held during the "ECO EDO Nihonbashi 2025" event.

Why not choose your favorite color and pattern from the "Chū-sen Tenugui Nijiyura" tenugui fabric and make your very own one-of-a-kind fan?
