Gyutan Mihashi "Black spice beef tongue curry"
This time, Morikawa will be trying out three "spice" dishes on the menu. First up is the "Black Spice Extra-Mass Beef Tongue Curry" from Gyutan Mihashi, a beef tongue specialty restaurant located on the first basement floor of Nihonbashi Mitsui Tower!
<Beef Tongue Mihashi> Black spice beef tongue curry 1,480 yen (tax included)
The beef tongue curry, which is carefully prepared over two days, is a very popular menu item at Gyutan Mihashi. In order to add even more spiciness, black spices are used extra this time.
The true identity of the mysterious black spice is... black shichimi!
Shichimi pepper brings to mind a Japanese image, but black shichimi, which has a more fragrant flavor with Sansho pepper than the typical red shichimi, surprisingly matches curry well.
Morikawa-san: "The beef tongue melts in your mouth and the flavor is infused into the roux. I also love Japanese pepper, so the black shichimi pepper adds extra flavor and really gets my appetite going. If you want something more spicy, you can add more spices, which is great.""It's packed with summer vegetables like eggplant and peppers, so it's very filling. The movie is long (2 hours and 49 minutes!), so it's a good idea to fill up on a meal here before watching the movie."

uRn.chAi&TeA "6 Spice Adrenaline Spark Soda"
The second item is the "6 Spice Adrenaline Spark Soda" from uRn.chAi&TeA, a popular cafe on the 2nd floor of COREDO uRn.chAi&TeA 3.
<uRn.chAi&TeA> 6 Spice Adrenaline Spark Soda 700 yen (tax included)
Our popular "6 Spice Soda" is made with an original spice syrup made from six spices - cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, cloves, coriander seeds, and ginger - and lemon, and is now available in a special version!
This time, bamboo charcoal powder has been added to change the color. The moment you add the cotton candy ball that comes with it, popping candy appears from the inside, creating a stimulating drink.Morikawa-san: "I was surprised at how quickly the cotton candy melted! It made me want to take a video of it. Even the sound of the popping candy was fun. It was a drink that stimulated all five senses."
"The taste is similar to craft cola. It's not too sweet and has a very refreshing taste, so I recommend drinking it after eating curry."

CRAFTROCK BREWPUB & LIVE "Spicy Taco Quesadilla"
The third item is the "Spicy Taco Quesadilla" from CRAFTROCK BREWPUB & LIVE, a beer restaurant on the first floor of COREDO Muromachi Terrace!
<CRAFTROCK BREWPUB & LIVE> Spicy Taco Quesadilla 980 yen (tax included) *Limited to 10 per day

Served with fresh and spicy tomato salsa!Morikawa-san: "This is delicious! I love cheese, spices, and coriander, so this is the best. It makes me want a beer."

Interview with Toshiyuki Morikawa
We spoke to Morikawa, who enjoyed the spice menu at COREDO Muromachi, about his thoughts on the Mission: Impossible film series, his preferences when it comes to food, and more.
- The release of the movie "Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning" is fast approaching. Is the Japanese dubbing perfect?
Recording has started, but it's not actually finished yet. Tom himself is always involved in editing until the very last minute before the release, so we on the localization team are also working until the very last minute. We get requests like "I want to change this line" right up until the very last minute.
-- That's amazing... It's not just a one-take recording. It seems like it gives you a stronger sense of creating a work together as a team.
I feel that way a lot. Usually, we dub a finished film into Japanese, but because it's being released simultaneously in Japan and the US, I'll be involved even before it's completed.
- Can you give us your honest thoughts on this film?
It was amazing. It was like the culmination of Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise), and showed how amazing he has been since the first movie, and how he continues to evolve with age. And what is Ethan fighting against? The seeds planted in the previous movie, "Dead Reckoning," and the movie before that, "Fallout," come into play... Yes, it's getting spiced up (laughs). Ethan is the main character, but the lines of the other cast members are also excellent, and the script is truly wonderful.
- You've been involved in thousands of productions, so what does the film "Mission: Impossible" mean to you?
I loved and admired the first movie, and I always wanted to play a spy role that everyone knows as a voice actor. I don't think there's any doubt that "Mission: Impossible" is my main work.-What is the appeal of Ethan Hunt's voice?
As the title suggests, it gives the impression of an unwavering voice that makes the impossible possible. It's not simply rough or reckless, but I feel like it contains a variety of different elements.
- What do you keep in mind when acting?
Of course, I am conscious of the fact that I am Ethan Hunt, but even before that, I pay attention to how I deliver Tom's lines and how I act, and it is important to match the flow of Tom's feelings. If I act in my own way, it will just be Japanese. For me, the best thing is for the audience to be immersed in the movie and realize that it was dubbed, rather than saying, "I enjoyed Morikawa's voice."
- It's interesting that your ideal is to not attract attention.
I aim for a level of synchronization that makes the audience forget that the film is being dubbed. That's also a sign of my respect for Tom.
--Tom Cruise will be coming to Japan for the Japan premiere. If you had the chance to talk to Tom again, what would you like to tell him?
I'd like to hear what you all think. It's the finale, so I wonder what's going to happen (laughs).-Today we've had a spicy menu, but is there anything you pay particular attention to in your diet?
I love to eat, so I eat what I like. I especially love meat dishes. If I had to be careful, I would say that because of my job, I try to avoid very spicy food that can irritate the throat.
- Aren't spicy dishes also dangerous?
No, this level of spiciness is not a problem at all. Spices are good for your health.
- On the other hand, are there any foods that you don't like?
Milk. I haven't had it since I was in elementary school. Instead, I like soy milk.
- Mr. Morikawa seems to be a healthy person, do you exercise on a daily basis?
When I was young, I had a serious injury called cervical spine damage, and I still have numbness in the upper left side of my body. My doctor told me to avoid twisting movements. But I like golf (laughs).
- That's a totally twisting movement (laughs).
I get numbness 2-3 days after playing golf. I keep getting told off by my teacher.
- By the way, what is your impression of COREDO Muromachi?
Nihonbashi used to have an image of being out of reach, but with the opening of COREDO Muromachi and the presence of movie theaters and shops that are easy to drop by, it now feels a little more accessible.
-Finally, please give a message to your fans.
After eating these three spicy dishes, I feel like my blood circulation has improved. It's perfect for the season when people get active. I hope you all enjoy the movie "Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning" along with this special spicy menu available only now. I'd like to try other spicy dishes too! -
