-
The second installment of the Immersive Museum, an experiential art event that attracted over 200,000 people last year and IN a lot of attention, is being held at Nihonbashi Mitsui Hall on the 1st and 4F floors of COREDO Muromachi until Sunday, October 29th. This year, the event has been well received, with many visitors attending every day.
In this article, we will introduce 10 points to help you fully enjoy the Immersive Museum, which is filled with various attractions, as well as the "immersive experience content" that allows you to experience many masterpieces with your whole body. This is a must-read for those who have already experienced it and those who want RA行! -
POINT 01 Learn about Post-IN
Book Store Taro, 1st basement floor, COREDO Muromachi 1
COREDO Muromachi Terrace 2nd floor "Eslite Spectrum Nihonbashi"
When viewing art, sensitivity is more important than knowledge. Therefore, there is no problem in appreciating it from a pure perspective without any prior knowledge. However, it is certain that you can enjoy the work more deeply if you know a little about the world surrounding it. Even at a music concert, it makes you feel good when familiar songs are played.
This year, the Immersive Museum will focus on works by Post-IN artists such as Van Gogh, Gauguin, Seurat, and Cezanne. While influenced by IN artists such as Monet and Renoir, each artist sought to overcome this influence and pursue their own artistic style, resulting in a unique style that is distinctive.
Book Store Taro on the basement floor of COREDO Muromachi 1 and Eslite Spectrum Nihonbashi on the second floor of COREDO Muromachi Terrace have a wide selection of Post-IN art books and guidebooks. We recommend checking out the artists and works that interest you not only before but also after visiting the Immersive Museum. -
POINT 02 Get a picture book kit
One of the great attractions of the Immersive Museum is that you can enjoy it with your children. Strollers are allowed inside the museum, and children can move around or make noise without any problems.
At the Immersive Museum, we will be giving away a "picture book kit" developed in collaboration with the magazine VERY to all visitors of elementary school age or younger! This special kit allows parents and children to express their impressions of the techniques used in Post-IN works through their experience at the Immersive Museum, and to have fun learning together while having conversations. -
POINT 03 Listen to the audio guide
Immersive Museum Official Ambassador Yuka Kageyama
The Immersive Museum offers free audio guides and subtitled guides available only in the museum, which provide background information on the films being screened.
Narration is provided by the official ambassador, Yuka Kageyama of Hinatazaka46. Download the dedicated app HELLO! MOVIE from your smartphone (iOS/Android) and enjoy the video. Don't forget to bring your earphones or headphones!

POINT 04 Lie down on a beanbag sofa
The way of viewing the exhibits at the Immersive Museum is completely different from that of a traditional art museum. As soon as you open the curtains and enter the venue, you'll be surrounded by paintings in 360 degrees, a new experience. You can look from any direction, stand, sit, or lie down! Don't be nervous just because it's an art exhibition, just enjoy it in a relaxed and free manner.
We recommend lying down on the randomly placed beanbag sofas and relaxing while surrendering yourself to the sounds and images. The beanbag sofas are the popular "Yogibo." There are only a limited number of them, so if you manage to get a seat, you're lucky! -
POINT 05 Immerse yourself to your heart's content
Once you've decided where to view the exhibit, it's time to immerse yourself in the world of Post-IN. Paintings are projected onto not only the four walls of the vast venue, but also onto the floor, creating a truly immersive experience in harmony with the powerful acoustics. Not only are the distinctive techniques and creative processes of Post-IN works dynamically depicted, but the relationships between artists who influenced and honed their skills are also dynamically expressed.
Each program is about 30 minutes long and there are no breaks or breaks, so please enjoy it to your heart's content. -
POINT 06 Enjoy shooting
Another great attraction of the Immersive Museum is that you can take photos that will look great on social media. It's a good idea to take your time looking around on the first lap, and then enjoy taking photos on the second lap! You can take both still photos and videos in all areas of the museum. Please refrain from bringing in tripods or taking photos that may be a nuisance to other visitors.
This year, four types of fresh flowers will be sold at the venue, so you can hold a fresh sunflower and take a photo with Van Gogh's "Sunflowers."
*Sunflowers are only available during the summer until Thursday, August 31st. *The number of fresh flowers is limited. -
POINT 07 Get your portrait painted by AI Van Gogh
What if Van Gogh painted your portrait? Your wish may come true in the interactive area "Your Portrait by Vin van Gogh," where you can experience a portrait created using AI techniques that recreate Van Gogh's style.
When you sit in front of the blank Bus, the portrait of Van Gogh painted next to you will come to life and begin to paint while humming. By recreating the color patterns and brush strokes of Van Gogh's past works, you will create a one-of-a-kind portrait! The finished image can be downloaded via QR code.
*The experience fee for this exhibition is 500 yen (tax included) per session. -
POINT 08 Soak in the afterglow at the special cafe
A special collaboration cafe called "Immersive Museum Cafe" will be opened on the same floor as the exhibition hall. It will offer a wide variety of summer-IN smoothies, cream sodas, photogenic sweets and drinks, cookies, chocolates, and more, all inspired by post-impressionist works.
While you're still basking in the excitement of the Immersive Museum, enjoy our original menu that can only be enjoyed here. -
POINT 09 Get some souvenirs
Speaking of art exhibitions, souvenir Shops are an essential part of the fun. The special Shops at the Immersive Museum has a wide selection of items with motifs of post-IN works. Don't miss out on the original sweets and goods that you can only get here!
