Founding the brand in a new land: Tasmania
Tasmania is a naturally rich island off the southeastern coast of Australia. In the 1850s, Blundstone's founder, John Blundstone, set sail from INGNI and arrived on the island after a long 93-day sea voyage. In 1870, he and his son established Blundstone as a shoe importing company in Hobart, Tasmania's largest city. He soon began producing original boots using locally sourced leather. He also received acclaim at the 1894 International Exhibition held in Hobart, marking a major milestone for the company's growth.

The VEJA Project
Since 2005, VEJA has been making sneakers in a different way, mixing social projects, economic justice and ecological materials.
VEJA uses organic cotton from Brazil and Peru for the canvas and laces, rubber from the Amazon for the soles, and a variety of innovative materials made from recycled plastic bottles and recycled polyester.
