GRIP SWANY's roots lie in the tough buffalo leather work gloves used by workers and miners in 19th-century America. These gloves, created to protect the hands of people working in harsh environments, have been improved over time and are carried on to become the GRIP SWANY we know today.

The brand's signature vibrant yellow is called "Swany YELLO." It's said that the origin of this color lies in the fact that, in the past, there wasn't as much lighting as there is today, and gloves were dyed a highly visible YELLO so they would be easier to find in the dark if dropped during work. This color, born out of functionality, has now become an iconic symbol of GRIP SWANY.

In the 1970s, in pursuit of even greater glove strength, GRIP SWANY adopted KEVLAR®, a high-strength, heat-resistant fiber developed by DuPont, for its sewing threads. Compared to conventional natural fibers and nylon threads, it was more resistant to friction and heat, and successfully reduced seam fraying significantly. Furthermore, they started a free repair Services for frayed threads. This after-sales care, which values customers using their gloves for a long time, is a tradition that GRIP SWANY has continued to this day.

After arriving in Japan in 1983, the need for gloves tailored to the skeletal structure of Japanese people became clear. Therefore, we began domestic production, redesigned the shape of the fingertips and thumbs, and softened the leather to create a truly authentic outdoor work glove that fits comfortably in Japanese hands.

Then, in 2008, they launched camping wear derived from their gloves. They developed work pants and gear pants with original large pockets for storing gloves, as well as fire ponchos and fire jackets suitable for campfires, proposing a new style of outdoor wear.
