Hakusan Ceramics' "High-Quality Tableware to Brighten Your Daily Life" exhibition is being held until June 21st (Sunday).
Hasami Town in Nagasaki Prefecture is a town known for its pottery, boasting a history of over 400 years.
Hakusan Ceramics is a leading ceramics manufacturer in Hasami Town, handling everything from design and development to manufacturing in-house.
The fundamental principle of Hakusan Ceramics' manufacturing is, above all, that their products be easy to use and blend seamlessly into everyday life.
The pieces are created through the combined efforts of the design studio and skilled craftsmen, while valuing new expressions and originality in pottery.
This exhibition, themed "High-Quality Tableware for Everyday Life," showcases tableware with delightful forms and colors that effortlessly enhance daily life.
The collection features approximately 120 items, centered around the "DAYS" series with its earthy, matte texture accented by rust-colored rims, as well as the "Asa no Ito" series with its fresh contrast between deep, linen-like colors and white porcelain, colorful mugs, the "Petra" series celebrating its 10th anniversary with its natural forms reminiscent of stones and rocks, beer tumblers, and adorable bird-motif accessories and vases that add warmth to any room.
Furthermore, we will introduce the behind-the-scenes aspects of the manufacturing process and display samples of our long-lasting "bird-shaped chopstick LIFE," which has been produced continuously for over 50 years since its creation in 1973.
You can witness the process of how the adorable forms are created as artisans carefully carve and finish each piece by hand after it has been molded.
