Customers who purchase Karimoku 60 products for 50,000 yen or more (tax included) will receive a free Japanese wood cutting board on a first-come, first-served basis!

This cutting board has an unpainted Mizume (water grain) finish.
Mizume is a deciduous broadleaf tree of the Betulaceae family, Betulaceae, and is distributed throughout Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu.
The wood has a fine grain and narrow vessels, giving it a very smooth surface, allowing you to enjoy the grain and graceful changes that occur over time.

Another feature is that there is a clear difference in color between the heartwood and sapwood, and when they are peeled together they tend to form a white, red, and white striped pattern.

The wood initially has a soft, pale pink hue, but over the years it changes to a warm, deep, lustrous brown.
Please enjoy this beautiful change over time.
