SEIKO 's history with diver's watches began in 1965.
This first domestically produced diver's watch was adopted four times as equipment for the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition's wintering team, demonstrating its high reliability.
Furthermore, in 1968, they released a 300m water-resistant model equipped with a 10-beat high-beat movement, which was the world's best at the time, demonstrating their continuous pursuit of innovation and evolution.
An updated regular model based on this 1968 model, equipped with the Caliber 8L45, has appeared in the Marinemaster line.
The dial features a matte finish and deep black paint, resulting in excellent legibility.
High-brightness LumiBrite ensures visibility even underwater and in dark places.
Furthermore, the bezel display panel uses glossy ceramic with excellent scratch resistance.
Inheriting the design of the 1968 model, which featured a streamlined form and a crown at the 4 o'clock position, this model bears the name "1968 Heritage."
Its appeal lies not only in its outstanding performance, but also in the refined beauty of its exterior design and the exquisite finish found in every detail.
The clasp features a newly developed one-push diver adjuster system, allowing for easy and precise adjustment of the bracelet size.
It has a maximum adjustment range of approximately 16mm, and allows for fine adjustments in 8 steps of approximately 2mm each.
The extension can be retracted even with the clasp closed, so it can accommodate changes in wrist size during diving as well as in daily life, ensuring a comfortable fit at all times.
Caliber 8L is a high-quality mechanical movement that embodies the manufacturing and processing technology of mechanical watches that SEIKO brand has cultivated, as well as the spirit of uncompromising craftsmanship inherited through the skills of its artisans.
The Caliber 8L45 achieves the most stable accuracy (daily deviation of +10 seconds to -5 seconds) and a long power reserve of approximately 72 hours among SEIKO 's current mechanical movements, through improvements to the shape and design of the power mainspring and rigorous precision adjustments.
