This bird that loves to be petted is a #cockatiel! Cockatiels belong to the Psittaciformes and Parrot family!

Although its name includes the word "Okame" (parakeet), it is actually a type of parrot, which makes it a little confusing!

By the way, do you know the difference between a parrot and a parakeet?
In fact, the most obvious difference is whether or not they have a crest (ornamental feathers that grow from the top of the head and are longer than the surrounding feathers)!
Basically, birds that do not have a crest are called parakeets, and birds that do have a crest are called parrots!
