SHONAN TREE HOUSE EVENT REPORT
10/28 (Sun) Halloween ★ Natural Icing Cookies
The ever-popular icing cookie class is back again!
This time, the theme is Halloween, which is perfect for this time of year. We will be icing three types of cookies: ghosts, pumpkins, and candies.
Furthermore, since these are natural icing cookies, we use a cream that does not contain synthetic colorings.
The cookie dough does not contain eggs, dairy products, or flour, so people with allergies can also participate in the event.
The lecturer was Ms. Hiromi Harada from Icing Cookie Harenohi.
All of the cream and cookies used at the event are handmade by Professor Harada.
These icing cookies were well received by participants and are not only beautiful to look at, but also delicious to enjoy.
The icing cream used comes in five colors: white, black, green, purple, and orange.
The green is made from matcha, the purple from purple sweet potato, the orange from pumpkin, and the black from bamboo charcoal powder, so they are all safe to eat.
Normally, the white color is added using egg whites, but like the cookies, they wanted to make it egg-free, so this time they made it by adding powdered sugar to chickpea broth.
This is where you can really see Professor Harada's attention to detail.
These cookies are very simple.
What kind of cookies will they turn out to be? We excitedly begin icing!
First, start with the edging.
Be careful to edge it carefully so that too much cream doesn't come out.
The candies in particular seem to be difficult because the color schemes are so complex. I'll do my best with my mom...!
Once the edges are done, pour the cream inside.
Use a toothpick or shake the mixture to smooth it out to avoid any bumps.
The basic icing ends here.
The children were told they could draw any face they liked on the ghosts, and they had fun drawing with lively expressions.
Use the leftover cream to add ribbons or write letters... It's exciting to make your own special cookies♪
Let them dry for a bit, and your cute, unique cookies will be ready! It's great that each ghost has a different expression.
You can take the remaining cream home with you so you can enjoy it again at home.
It was a fun Halloween memory!
