SHONAN TREE HOUSE EVENT REPORT
7/7 (Sat) Tanabata ☆ Star icing cookies
To coincide with Tanabata, we held a workshop to make cute pastel-colored star-shaped icing cookies.
A large Tanabata festival is held every year in Hiratsuka City, and this year was no doubt another year of great celebrations for many people.
We had a lot of people visit Shonan Tree House and I'm sure they all had wonderful memories.
We will introduce some of the wonderful opening scenes and works.
The lecturer was Hiromi Harada, who is active in Chigasaki, Shonan.
They also accept icing cookie orders, sales, events and Shops, and even offer in-home lessons upon request.
Not only are they skilled at icing decoration, but their homemade cookie dough is also delicious!
You can also purchase Harada-sensei's cookies at Chigasaki's "Chiffon Workshop Ayu," so be sure to stop by.
The event started with a simple demonstration by Professor Harada.
They will carefully teach you the basics, from how to cut the cream Exit with scissors to how to use the cream.
Afterwards, they demonstrated each step one by one, so even small children could participate with ease.
These are the four colors of icing cream that everyone used.
It's a beautiful pastel color of pink, yellow, blue, and green.
First, cut off the cream Exit with scissors.
If we cut it too thick we won't be able to create the intricate designs, so mom and I cut it carefully...!
Once the cream is ready, it's time for icing!
Apply cream around the edge of the cookie to create the shape you want.
Once it is nicely surrounded, pour the icing cream inside.
Shake the cookie gently side to side while using a toothpick to shape it, and the surface tension will make the cream smooth.
If the cream is too thin it will easily become uneven, so a thickness of about 3mm is recommended.
Next, place edible decorations called alazan on top of the cream.
It sparkles like the Milky Way and is so beautiful!
Use the special spoon to place the alazan where you like...
The cute star-shaped icing cookies are done!
Even a small child could achieve such beautiful results, and their smiles looked so happy!
It would be a shame to eat it...!
We hope you have a fun icing experience at the tree house.
I'm sure everyone had some wonderful Tanabata memories.
