[New Product] Farmers' MONPE Arimatsu Gangimaki Tornado Dyeing & Shaping

These Farmers' Monpe pants feature a "Ganki Tornado" (covered walkway tornado) pattern, a collaboration with Yamagami Shoten (CUCURI), a long-established Arimatsu Narumi Shibori dyeing company celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Arimatsu Narumi Shibori, originating in Arimatsu, Aichi Prefecture, is a traditional tie-dyeing technique that has been practiced since the early Edo period. It is characterized by its ability to create diverse patterns and unique textures by tying the fabric according to the design. The "Ganki Tatsumaki" pattern applied to these MONPE pants is one of the representative patterns of Arimatsu Narumi Shibori, created by combining two tie-dyeing techniques: Gangimokume Shibori and Tatsumaki Shibori.

Traditionally, Arimatsu Narumi Shibori fabric is made from bolts of cloth, which are then dyed and tied to create garments such as yukata. This time, however, we've used a more time-consuming process: the shibori dyeing is applied to each individual piece after the garment has been sewn into MONPE pants. Based on the same shibori dyeing process, we've prepared Farmers' MONPE in S, M, and L sizes with dyeing, and in two colors, black and blue, with a shaping process.
