| Brand Concept | [Minami-tei] Opened in 2007 at The Fish adjacent to the Kanaya Ferry Port, the handmade Baumkuchen workshop Minami-tei is a confectionery workshop located at the foot of Chiba's famous peak, Nokogiriyama. Since its founding, Minami-tei has consistently stuck to its concept of "safe and secure" and "handmade sweets made with ingredients from Chiba Prefecture." "The best things, from local sources" Minami-tei 's baumkuchen is made using rapeseed eggs from Kimitsu, grown in the naturally rich Boso region, and milk from Minamiboso Miyoshi, known as the birthplace of dairy farming. Minami-tei 's signature product, Nokogiriyama Baumkuchen, has been awarded the Monde Selection Gold Award for 10 consecutive years, boasting its proven quality. In 2012, the Nokogiriyama Fund was established, and a portion of sales are donated to environmental improvement of Nokogiriyama, starting a new initiative as a social sweet. In 2015, it was also selected as a return gift for the Futtsu City hometown tax donation. With the motto of "Spreading the circle of feelings with Minami-tei 's Baumkuchen," we deliver our sweets all over Japan, incorporating the pride and story of our region, for the smiles of our customers and all those involved. [Minami-tei 's Baumkuchen] The name Baumkuchen comes from "Baum tree" (Kuchen confectionery). The pattern of the layered dough resembles the tree rings, so it has been used on many auspicious occasions as a confectionery symbolizing overlapping layers of happiness and longevity. Celebrations with family and friends, weddings, birthday presents, the start of a new life, etc. Baumkuchen is there when new people and circles of people meet. Minami-tei 's Baumkuchen is a sweet that conveys "feelings of gratitude for encounters between people," and is made with all our heart to add layer upon layer of happiness.
