Authentic Bon Odori dance coming from Akita!

The Nishimonai Bon Odori, which has been passed down for over 730 years, is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, a national important intangible folk cultural property, and one of Japan's three major Bon Odori dances.
It is held every year for three days from August 16th to 18th on Honmachi Street in Ugo Town, Akita Prefecture.
There are two types of dances, "Ondo" and "Ganke", and the venue is filled with bonfires and sand.
The dancers wear unique costumes that have been passed down from generation to generation, straw hats, indigo-dyed yukatas, and Hikozono hoods, and hide their faces.
Praying for a bountiful harvest, the dancers dance in unison with their ancestors, drawing the audience into a dreamlike world.
