As I was looking at it, I was suddenly overcome with the urge to go to Hawaii! I immediately ran to a nearby bookstore and bought several travel magazines. When I got home and told my husband and high school daughter about my trip to Hawaii, they were both in favor. We got really excited, and the next day we went out to buy resort wear and travel goods to wear there. Hawaii is actually a really wonderful place, and my daughter has even said that she wants to come every year. I was captivated by the beauty of a quilt I saw in a souvenir shop in Honolulu, and I decided that I would definitely learn to quilt when I returned to Japan. My encounter with quilting began by chance, but now I spend my days fulfillingly creating quilts."

"One day I received an invitation. It was a notice from an acquaintance about a home party, but looking back, it was also an invitation from the world of wine, which I would later enter. On the day, I brought a bottle of wine as a gift. At the time, I had no interest in wine and simply chose it on the advice of the Shops, but it was strange how that sparked a lively discussion of wine at the party. As I listened to everyone's discussion of wine, my interest gradually grew, and by the end of the party I wanted to know more. After that, like falling in love, I was headed straight for the world of wine. I read every specialist book I could get my hands on, went to wine school, researched cheeses that go well with wine, and expanded my interest to include glasses. Next month I will be visiting a winery in Burgundy. My dream is to become a sommelier in the future. At least until the day that dream is no longer a dream, wine will be my lover."

"I went to college in the heyday of bands in the 1970s and 1980s, and I used to pretend to be a rock star with a cheap guitar. When a hit song that I used to listen to back then was revived and released, I was overcome with nostalgia and ran to the CD Shops. Listening to it again, I was suddenly reminded of my time as a college student, and I wanted to try playing the guitar again. I quickly bought a guitar and practiced, remembering those days, and my feelings escalated. Not satisfied with playing alone, I decided to form a band, so I went to school to find members, and eventually I got to the point where I was performing live once a month with the members I met there. After the show, we would have a party with the band members and acquaintances who came to see us. There has never been a more fulfilling time than this. I feel like I've finally found my true self at this age."
