- *What is an ostomate?
- This refers to patients who have had a stoma (excretory opening) created in their abdomen through surgery for the treatment of colon cancer or bladder cancer (those with an artificial anus or artificial bladder).
- Toilets require flushing devices and waste sinks to dispose of the bags (hauchi) that collect excrement.
