The movement it is equipped with is the mechanical high-beat "Caliber 9SA5".
This Grand SEIKO-exclusive automatic mechanical caliber achieves a high beat rate of 36,000 vibrations per hour while maintaining a power reserve of approximately 80 hours when fully wound, thanks to its innovative dual-impulse escapement and twin-barrel structure.
The case and bracelet are made of Everbrilliant Steel, which shines whiter than regular stainless steel and has extremely high corrosion resistance.
The dial depicts a magnificent birch forest, imbued with the crisp, clear air of the highlands.
Iwate Prefecture, the same prefecture as the Grand SEIKO Studio Shizukuishi, is home to one of Japan's largest birch forests.
Birch trees grow very quickly and are sun-loving trees full of strong vitality. The way they extend their white trunks straight towards the sun gives off a sense of strength and resilience in addition to their beauty.
Inspired by the way birch trees spread out in such vast clusters that it's impossible to tell where they end, we developed a "birch pattern" that evokes a sense of the depth of the forest.
The mystical scene of layers upon layers of vibrant green foliage shining through the slender, tall white trunks is expressed through a dial featuring a dynamic stamped pattern and a vibrant green color that evokes the breath of life.
Everbrilliant Steel, a stainless steel material with the world's highest level of corrosion resistance, is a material that surpasses the corrosion resistance of stainless steel materials commonly used in high-end watches, while also possessing a beautiful white luster.
Traditionally, this material has been used for harsh environments such as marine structures and equipment exposed to chloride-containing environments in chemical and food processing plants, making it difficult to meet the quality requirements for jewelry like watches.
However, Grand SEIKO, which pursues beauty that can be cherished for a long time in any era, has completely re-examined its conventional manufacturing process and succeeded in applying it to both the case and the bracelet.
