This model is based on the "62GS Modern Design Model," a modern adaptation of the "62GS," Grand SEIKO 's first ever automatic mechanical model released in 1967, and features a dial that expresses the changing seasons, a uniquely Japanese style.
The dial is characterized by an image of a "flower raft" - cherry blossom petals blown about by the wind covering the surface of a river after the vernal equinox, one of the 24 solar terms.
The uniquely Japanese landscape of cherry blossoms being admired even after they have fallen is expressed with a rock-like pattern and grayish pink color, adding a touch of elegance to any moment you glance at the watch.
The movement is equipped with the Spring Drive caliber 9R65, assembled by skilled artisans at the Shinshu Toki no Takumi Kobo.

When cherry blossom petals fall onto the surface of the river, they swirl and float away.
This scene, in which flowers appear to be dancing on the water, is called "hanaikada" in Japan.
