The staff member is enjoying eating the vegetables they're holding!
This is Nami-chan the capybara!

You probably imagine capybaras taking baths or swimming!
This time, I'd like to talk about bathing!
First of all, why do capybaras take baths?
Is it because they like baths? Or are they just playing?

Actually... there are three meanings behind capybara bathing!

① Body temperature regulation
They originate from the warm regions of South America, and they regulate their body temperature by bathing in hot water during the cold winter and cold water during the hot summer!

② Skin and hair care
Bathing helps them wash away dirt from their bodies and also serves as grooming!
They also use bathing to prevent dryness and keep their skin healthy!

③ For excretion
Capybaras defecate and urinate in the water!
It is said that this is to hide their scent from natural enemies!
They'll even get into cold water to relieve themselves!

At our shop, you can give treats (200 yen each) to Nami and the other cats, and even pet their backs!
You might even get to see Nami-chan taking a bath during the daytime...?!

Also, don't forget your half-price admission ticket (weekdays only)!
The deadline is July 17th!!
If you have one, please come and interact with the animals on weekdays as well!

We and our animals are all looking forward to your visit!
