G-Star RAW was founded in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1989. It has always explored the possibilities of denim, and has been particular about designs, materials, processing, and cutting that overturn conventional wisdom. In 1996, it introduced the industry's first 3D (three-dimensionally cut) denim and products that focus on raw denim (unprocessed raw denim), and has continued to introduce new ideas. Based on industrial design and craftsmanship by artisans, its designs are characterized by a mix of work and modern style.
The "RAW" in G-Star RAW means "as is." It is a brand that values the natural self, individuality, and personal preferences.
