SHONAN TREE HOUSE EVENT REPORT

SHONAN TREE HOUSE EVENT REPORT

June 30th (Wednesday) Hiratsuka City Koyo Junior High School presents Let's enter the bubble world!

This is the first event held by the Science Club of Hiratsuka City's Eyo Junior High School.

We held a fun-filled event where participants could learn about soap bubbles, which are familiar to us all, in a mini lecture and even experience entering a soap bubble.

The event was a huge success, with content that could be enjoyed by people of all ages, from young children to adults, and we would like to report on it.

The event was hosted by members of the Science Club of Koyo Junior High School.

The students worked together on everything from setting up to running the event, and it was wonderful to see them working hard, seriously, happily and with smiles on their faces.

First, you will learn about soap bubbles through explanations and demonstrations while enjoying a quiz.

Will using a star-shaped ring make soap bubbles star-shaped?

If you dye soap solution red, will the soap bubbles also appear red?

Both children and adults participated with great interest.

The correct answer was given by demonstrating the answer. "Wow!" erupted in surprise, cheers and applause!

Next, you will make soap bubbles using gum syrup, detergent, and water.

Apparently adding gum syrup helps to create a stronger bubble film.

Furthermore, if you cover the bubbles with a paper cup and shine a light on them...

You can see the surface of the soap bubbles so clearly...!

It came out really beautifully on camera!

Please try it at home too!

The last part is what you have been waiting for: entering the soap bubbles.

Participants wear clear sunglasses to prevent the soap solution from getting into their eyes, and stand in the center of a container specially made by the Science Club.

Inside the container was soap bubble liquid and a large hula hoop-like ring.

Two male members worked together to lift the hoop...

The soap bubbles enveloped everyone!

There were also lots of excited shouts of "Ohhh!" and the atmosphere was very lively!

Each person participated three times, and many people, from children to adults, enjoyed the event.

At first, all the members looked nervous as it was all their first time.

However, after seeing the many smiling faces of the participants, I found myself smiling before I knew it.

It was surely a very valuable experience for both the members of the science club and all those who participated.
