Do you experience symptoms like tired eyes in the evening, a gritty feeling in your contact lenses, or blurred vision? These could actually be signs of dry eye. But do you know the reason why your eyes are dry?
Dry eye is a condition in which the balance of tear volume and quality is disrupted, resulting in insufficient lubrication of the eye's surface. It can be caused by prolonged use of smartphones or computers, air conditioning, and contact lenses.
If left untreated, the surface of the eye can become more susceptible to damage, leading to persistent blurred vision and discomfort. In particular, if blinking decreases due to desk work, symptoms can worsen without the person even realizing it.
□ My eyes are dry
□ Eyes get tired easily
□ My vision is blurry.
□ Contact lenses are uncomfortable
□ Prone to redness
To prevent eye strain, it's important to consciously increase your blinking frequency and take breaks from screen work.
If you have any concerning symptoms, don't dismiss it as "just eye strain." Consider getting your eyes checked at an ophthalmologist for dry eye.
