Brand Concept | The Faculty of Arts and Culture (hereinafter referred to as "GEIBUN") of the National University Corporation, Toyama University (Location: Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, President: Shigeru Saito) Through an organizational cooperation agreement with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masanobu Komoda), Located within "MITSUI OUTLET PARK HOKURIKU OYABE" (hereinafter "MOP HOKURIKU OYABE") (Location: Oyabe City, Toyama Prefecture, Operated by: Mitsui Fudosan Retail Management Co., Ltd.), "Meets GEIBUN" (hereinafter "this space"), an art and design community space that will host design Shops and galleries, will open on August 3, 2021. ■ Background Toyama University and Mitsui Fudosan began working together at MOP HOKURIKU OYABE in 2018, signed an organizational partnership agreement in 2019, and have been conducting joint research and surveys at MOP HOKURIKU OYABE with the aim of developing and revitalizing the region. To date, a total of four professors and associate professors have conducted demonstration experiments and presented research together with students. Now, in addition to further strengthening collaboration between organizations, In order to create a more open and attractive space for the local community, various research and events can be held throughout the year. We are pleased to announce that the art and design community space "Meets GEIBUN" will open within MOP HOKURIKU OYABE. ■ Naming and logo design "Meets GEIBUN" means "a place to meet GEIBUN (Toyama University Faculty of Arts and Culture)." It is our hope that by sharing GEIBUN's unique perspective in this space, people will be able to gain new insights and discoveries into their everyday lives. The logo design features two eyes inside the word "Meets," conveying the importance of always having a perspective from which to observe things. ■ Spatial design "Meets GEIBUN" consists of three areas (gallery area, free area, and information area) and serves as a venue for various activities such as special exhibitions, Shops, study groups, and open classes. Wires are strung in the air to match the unique content of each project. By hanging soft cloth from there to divide the space, the space can be flexibly transformed. |
