"Akane" depicts the sky by mixing titanium with vermilion lacquer.

The beautiful, domed sapphire glass, treated with an anti-reflective coating, is handcrafted by artisans in a small factory in Adachi Ward, Tokyo.

The dial, hand-finished by lacquer artisans in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, takes approximately two months to complete.
