Equipped with a 'telemeter' for measurement.

Telemetry was originally used as a military tool to measure the distance of artillery shells fired from cannons.

Common uses include measuring the distance to lightning and fireworks.

Press the start button in the upper right corner the moment you see a flash of lightning, and stop it the instant you hear a boom. The number displayed on the outer edge at this time will be the approximate distance to the lightning.
