The star drop dial is inspired by the image of a moonlit night scene reflected on the surface of a lake.

The moon floating on the lake is expressed using white mother-of-pearl, and the stars falling like droplets onto the lake's surface are expressed using mother-of-pearl inlay.

When you press the button at 2 o'clock, the clear tone of the minute repeater spreads like ripples across the waterscape under the moonlight.

Enjoy the unique sound that aims to create a gentle, pleasant tone that sounds just like striking a real bell. Two different tones (high and low) are played to indicate the time, and three different tones are played for the alarm, depending on whether it is morning, noon, or night.

The intricate dial, hand-finished by lacquer artisans in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture, is made of five layers of lacquer, and features stars inlaid with mother-of-pearl and a moon in the upper left corner made with white mother-of-pearl.

Equipped with a perpetual calendar, this model eliminates the need for tedious calendar adjustments for "double months, short months," and "leap years that occur once every four years" until February 28, 2100. Be sure to come and see it in store.
