Hemming while preserving the distressed hem. By calculating the dimensions of the worn-in area and cutting the jeans body, and then joining the worn-in section, the design of the hem can be recreated.

Chain stitch
This stitching method features a chain-like pattern on the reverse side. When washed, the thread shrinks, causing the stitches to tighten. The difference in shrinkage between the thread and the fabric creates a twisted appearance known as puckering. A chain stitch sewing machine is used for this technique.

Union Special
Hemming is possible with the Union Special 43200G!
This chain stitch creates a wavy stitch pattern, resulting in a unique "fading" effect that develops with wear. It's also more durable and less prone to fraying than regular hemming, which is a major advantage. It beautifully finishes the denim without compromising its thickness or texture.
