Brand Concept	LAVENHAM was founded in 1969 in Lavenham, a small, beautiful village in Suffolk, northeast of London. The brand was born when Mrs. Elliot, a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth, conceived the idea of using quilted material for blankets for the Queen's horses. In 1969, they launched a horse blanket made of nylon quilting material. It was lightweight, durable, highly insulating, and reasonably priced, so it quickly spread throughout Britain and established their position in the equestrian equipment industry. In 1972, LAVENHAM released the diamond-quilted jacket, which definitively cemented the brand's name. This quilted jacket was highly praised for combining basic and practical equestrian training wear with a high level of fashionability that made it suitable for everyday wear, as well as its unique, specialized sewing techniques. Also in the 1970s, the brand introduced the quilted vest, which injected its equestrian roots into the brand's iconic garments. Initially, nylon was the main material used, but later, a wide range of materials such as polyester, wool, cashmere, and cotton came into use. Even now, 50 years after its founding, the brand continues to produce all of its products by skilled craftsmen in its own factory in Suffolk, delivering quilted products with superior design and high quality.
