Brand Concept	Wayne GREGORY made his first backpack, a wooden frame pack, as part of a Boy Scout project at the age of 14. His packs were so well-made that Andy Drollinger, the owner of Adventure 16, saw Wayne's passion and talent for craftsmanship and invited him to be Adventure 16's second employee, where he worked for several years. At the age of 22, he and his wife Susie founded Sunbird, a backpack company, with the aim of producing external frame packs with unprecedented design and functionality. However, in 1973, Sunbird was dissolved and he became a freelance designer, working on sleeping bags, tents, technical wear, and other products. He produced various gear for numerous outdoor manufacturers, further improving his skills, knowledge, and experience. Feeling the limitations of external frame packs, the new trend of seeking unprecedented packs once again drove his passion for pack design. "What I want to make is backpacks," he reaffirmed in his heart the passion he had, and decided to start a company specializing in backpacks again, founding "GREGORY Mountain Products" in San Diego in 1977. For the next 30 years, he expanded his activities with both his headquarters and production base in Southern California. At first, his daily routine was to make packs in the back of the store and catch customers in front of the store and talk to them about technical topics. We then incorporated new ideas into our products based on feedback from mountain guides and general customers. Wayne was convinced that fitting was more important than anything else in the backpack business. GREGORY 's innovative ideas, ergonomic design, and commitment to the highest quality... His passion has never cooled and is reflected in the latest pack developments to this day. He is constantly pursuing comfortable carrying, fit, durability, and functionality, and continues to evolve and amaze everyone who carries it.
