Founded in 1920, New Era is an American headwear and apparel brand with over 100 years of history. It is the only official player cap supplier for Major League Baseball, and the first professional baseball cap was made in 1934. In addition to MLB, New Era is also the official cap for major American sports, basketball (NBA) and American football (NFL), and has deep ties to various sports, but at the same time, it is highly supported in the fashion/culture field and continues to produce numerous collaborations. It is said that the trigger for these collaborations and customizations was the "red Yankees cap" made in 1996 at the request of film director Spike Lee.
