kiyoken was founded in 1908 (Meiji 41) as a shop selling milk, cider, and other drinks inside Yokohama Station (where Sakuragicho Station is now located).
In 1928 (Showa 3), with the desire to create a specialty unique to Yokohama, we launched bite-sized shumai that are delicious even when cooled. Our shumai, made with dried scallops, are still loved by many people, and we continue to follow the same recipe to this day.
Later, in 1954, the company launched the "Shumai Bento," which featured shumai as the main dish. The fluffy, glossy rice, cooked using a unique method such as steam cooking, and the carefully selected side dishes have been well received.
