Osaka Tamade Aizuya is the birthplace of takoyaki was established in 1933.
The shop was first started by Tomekichi Endo and his wife who hailed from the Aizu region of Fukushima and started out as a stall that sold rajioyaki in Imazato, Osaka. The rajioyaki that were stuffed with octopus (tako) became an immediate hit among their customers who started to call it "takoyaki". "Gyusujiyaki" made with nostalgic-tasting beef tendon that used to be used in rajioyaki, fragrant green onion, and with a light soy sauce finish is also very popular.
