KANAZAWA Area Guide

One of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Famous as a cherry blossom site as well as a koyo (colorful leaves) site within Ishikawa prefecture, it offers different landscapes every season. It has previously received three stars in the Michelin Green Guides.

This contemporary art museum is located in Kanazawa city and is easily accessible for all. There’re 4 separate entrances allowing visitors to come and go as they please. It’s a very open space. The museum is known for having many exhibits—including the most popular one, “Swimming Pool”—that visitors are allowed to touch.

45-50 min. from Kanazawa by direct bus! Nearby is the World Heritage Site and historic village Shirakawa-go, Gokayama Gassho Village with its houses shaped like hands in prayer, Kenroku-en Garden, one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, and Himigyo-ko Port, the greatest port in Toyama Prefecture.
