This site, where Shinjuku Nakamuraya used to be, was where many artists gathered from the end of the Meiji period to the early Showa period, allowing their talents to blossom. This event was later known as the "Nakamuraya Salon," and has left its mark on the history of modern Japanese art. Our museum will introduce the works of these artists in the very place where they gathered, and we aim to be a place where people can gather and casually experience art and culture.
