[Fukutoku Garden Suigian] The 3rd "Reiwa Past and Present Four Seasons Story Picture Scroll" Sumiyoshi Taisha Moon Viewing Festival will be held on Friday, September 19th

schedule: 2025/9/19(Fri)
time: Doors open 18:30 / Performance begins 19:00 / Closing 22:00
On Friday, September 19th, the 3rd Sumiyoshi Taisha Moon Viewing Festival, "Reiwa: Now and Then, Four Seasons Tales Picture Scroll," will be held at Fukutoku Garden Suigian.

On Tuesday, June 3rd and Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, the Traditional Culture Future Co-Creation Project performed one of its signature programs, "Reiwa Konjaku Shiki Monogatari Emaki," at the Shine Hut EXPO Hall in the Osaka-Kansai Expo site. To coincide with this, SUIGIAN will be holding a "retrospective event" where visitors can view the performance up close and learn more about it through commentary by the performers.

The performance featured a total of 200 performers, including the heads and heads of each school, several Living National Treasures, and young practitioners of the next generation, who recreated Japan's four seasons and religious ceremonies at the Expo site through traditional performing arts such as Noh, Kyogen, shrine maiden dance, Kagura, and Gagaku.
Additionally, the video production, which utilized generative AI technology, created a new stage performance that combined classic and modern technology, leaving the audience with a strong impression and lingering impressions.
Over two days, over 5,000 people attended, including guests from 15 countries both in Japan and overseas, and the performance provided an opportunity for many to rediscover the depth and beauty of Japanese culture.
This performance will surely be etched in the history of the Expo as a symbolic initiative that embodies the inheritance of traditional culture and co-creation for the future.
Going forward, this program will continue to function as an educational tool for passing on culture to future generations, and as a killer content that conveys the greatness of traditional Japanese culture to the world.
Therefore, in addition to reproducing the programs from the day, we have created a special opportunity for the performers themselves to explain each ritual and ceremony that cannot be fully conveyed on a large stage, allowing more people to understand the concept of this project and provide support. This is a very valuable opportunity. Please participate.

Furthermore, with the support of many people, Kimura Hidetomo, the owner of SUIGIAN, conceived and directed the Reiwa Now and Then Four Seasons Tales Picture Scroll.
Thanks to this connection, following the first Kyogen performance at our restaurant, this will be the second performance by the Ogasawara school. We are planning a "review session" for all nine and ten parts of the "Reiwa Konjaku Shiki Monogatari Emaki." We encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible.
This will be a special time as we unravel the story of this picture scroll. Please look forward to it.
