The lush and spacious gardens are divided into the Asian Garden, Australian Garden, African Garden, and Insectarium. The exhibits are free of fences and cages, and the animals are kept in a spacious exercise area so that they can be seen as naturally as possible. Animals that live in groups in the wild, such as giraffes and Przewalski's horses, are kept in groups as much as possible. At the Skywalk Tower, you can observe the arboreal orangutans' natural light and nimble movement across the branches (exhibitions may be canceled due to weather). The On Bus, which was launched in 1964 (Showa 39), is the first of its kind in the world, and allows visitors to view a group of On from Bus. In addition to successfully breeding storks and golden eagles, the zoo is the only place in Japan where Tasmanian devils are kept, and it also contributes to conservation efforts for rare animals both in Japan and overseas.
