As part of its contribution to the SDGs, Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport is holding food drive events at its facilities as an initiative to reduce food waste.

Anyone can take part in reducing food waste

A food drive is an activity that contributes to reducing food waste by bringing in food that cannot be eaten from home and donating it to people in poverty, or welfare facilities such as child welfare facilities and mother-and-child support facilities through food bank organizations. This initiative reduces food waste and provides support to those who need it, leading to mutual support in the community through food.

The spread of awareness of valuing food and helping each other

A food drive event was held at four LaLaport facilities on the dates listed below. Many people participated and donated a variety of items, including food and daily necessities.

We have received many comments from participants and those who were interested, such as "We hope that this kind of initiative will continue," and "When will the next one be held?" We feel that people are becoming more aware of food waste as a familiar problem and are trying to tackle it in whatever way they can, and the feeling of helping each other is spreading.
