JJh (JJ Ash) Pearl Necklace String Replacement and Repair Information

We would like to introduce you to the most popular repair service available at JJh (Jay Jay Ash): changing the strings on pearl necklaces.


Pearl necklaces have a thread (or wire) running through them, but many people are unaware that this thread can break over time due to deterioration even if the necklace is not being used.

People who only wear pearl necklaces on special occasions such as weddings and funerals once every few years should be especially careful.

On the day of the occasion, when you try to put it on before going out, the thread often breaks and unfortunately it ends up looking like the image above.
If the thread breaks, the pearl cannot be used that day and there is also a risk that the pearls will scatter and get lost.
Regular maintenance is recommended to prevent the thread from breaking, and JJh recommends changing the thread every five years.

・Thread replacement [normal] 3,300 yen (up to 45 cm)
・Thread change [All knots] 6,600 yen (up to 45cm) *This is a method of tying knots between every bead.
・Replacement of thread [wire] 4,400 yen (up to 45cm)
・Clasp replacement: clasp fee + string replacement 3,300 yen [normal] (up to 45cm)
(Clasps are available in a variety of designs. Magnetic clasps are also popular as they are easy to put on and take off.)

*Since thread replacement is a careful job done by experienced craftsmen, repairs will be done while you hold the garment in your possession.
