At first glance, it just looks like stripes.
If you look closely, you'll see that it's staggering!

"MONPE Yoroke Shima" has joined our lineup, casually encapsulating the fun of Kurume Kasuri, which is made by tying and dyeing threads to create patterns!

Kurume Kasuri, produced in the Chikugo region in the south of Fukuoka Prefecture, is characterized by its soft texture, which is achieved by weaving the fabric slowly and airily using old-fashioned shuttle looms.
The more you use it, the more it will conform to your body.
It is highly breathable, absorbent, and dries quickly, making it especially useful in the summer.
The thickness of the fabric is basic.

Not Just Stripes
The Fun of Kurume Kasuri

The warp threads are stretched straight and the weft threads are stretched straight.
Despite this, the stripes are wavy and wobbly, creating "wobbly stripes."
Hidden within this lies the technique used to express the Kurume Kasuri patterns.
